A 3.87-Mile Lateral With Zero Feet Slid
Pro Directional’s directional team drilled a 20,450-foot lateral in a single run in Upton County’s Wolfcamp A formation. Using one bottomhole assembly (BHA) and a rotary steerable system, the team rotated every foot of the lateral, recording zero feet slid.
The well reached 30,117 feet measured depth (MD) and 9,209 feet true vertical depth (TVD).
Performance at a Glance

One BHA Across More Than 20,000 Feet
The defining result was completing the entire lateral with one BHA in one run. Across 20,450 feet, the directional team maintained rotary drilling through to total depth without sliding.
Reported performance averaged 188 ft/hr gross across the lateral and 252 ft/hr on bottom. These separate measurements capture different aspects of drilling performance and are presented alongside the reported 9.4-day interval from first on bottom to TD.
Execution Across an Extended Lateral
This Wolfcamp A result documents a specific combination of lateral length, drilling rates, and directional execution. For operators evaluating rotary steerable applications, it provides a field example of more than 3.8 miles of lateral drilled in one run.
The outcome reflects the work of Pro Directional’s team and its coordination with the customer and rig crew throughout the operation.
