ProDirectional is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in mud motors, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and improvement of our proprietary mud motor fleet. This role involves designing, analyzing, and testing components and systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency in challenging drilling environments.
– Utilize CAD & SolidWorks software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mud motor components and assemblies.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
– Perform stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics analyses to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
– Utilize simulation tools to predict and troubleshoot potential issues in mud motor operation.
– Analyze test results, identify areas for improvement, and make design modifications accordingly.
– Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, engineering reports, and technical drawings and instructions.
– Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
– Work closely with cross-functional teams, including shop, quality control, and field service, to ensure seamless integration of designs into production and field applications.
– Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source components and materials.
– Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mud motor design.
– Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the evolution of our product offerings.
– Perform cost analysis to understand and derive areas for opportunist development and design.
