5″ SuperPack ProFlex and Ti-Flex Mud Motor Power Section

5″ SuperPack ProFlex downhole motor power section designed for high-torque directional drilling and stable RPM across wide flow
ranges.

The ProDirectional 475-56-83 is a 5-inch Superpack power section built for high-torque directional drilling, long laterals, and heavy WOB applications. Using our ProFlex transmission and HS88 elastomer system, this motor delivers predictable torque, high RPM stability, and extended stator life in demanding downhole conditions. Designed for directional drilling and MWD motor assemblies, the 475-56-83 provides consistent power transfer and reliable performance across a wide flow range.

Power Section Overview

The 475-56-83 is engineered to convert drilling fluid energy into controlled torque and rotational speed. It is optimized for applications requiring high load capacity, stable RPM, and predictable differential pressure behavior.

Flow Range

100 to 300 GPM

Speed Range

102 to 306 RPM

Torque Slope

Maximum Differential Pressure

1,750 psi

These operating ranges allow the tool to be tuned for curve, lateral, and high-load drilling, depending on flow rate and WOB.

Downhole Performance Characteristics

The 475-56-83 provides a linear torque response as differential pressure increases. This makes it ideal for:

  • High build rate assemblies

  • Extended lateral drilling

  • High WOB applications

  • Motor-assisted rotary drilling

Because the torque slope is 2.352 ft-lb per psi, operators get predictable torque delivery as surface pumps increase pressure. This allows directional drillers and MWD teams to control bit behavior without sudden power spikes that damage stators or BHA components.

Why ProDirectional Power Sections Last Longer

Unlike generic motor power sections, ProDirectional builds and tracks every rotor and stator. Each 475-56-83 is:

  • Matched for optimal rotor-to-stator fit

  • Tested for differential pressure and torque

  • Tracked for run hours and performance

  • Supported by ProDirectional field and ROC teams

This ensures that when you deploy a 475-56-83, you get repeatable downhole performance, not just paper specs.

Typical Applications

The 475-56-83 is commonly used in:

  • Directional drilling in shale and tight formations

  • Long lateral wells

  • High-WOB build sections

  • Motor-driven rotary BHA designs

  • MWD and survey-intensive drilling programs

Its wide flow range and high torque capacity allow it to support both aggressive build rates and long horizontal drilling.

Performance Disclaimer

*Power section performance curves are for reference only. Published performance metrics are theoretical and based on ambient conditions using fresh water. Actual performance will vary depending on downhole conditions and rotor and stator fit. Operating above optimal differential pressure will reduce stator life. Optimal load power calculations are based on maximum RPM and optimal load torque. Information contained in this document is subject to change without notice.
